I came across this thought-provoking post on X that was talking about...well its right there, you can read it for yourself ツ. In a way, I agree with the point the writer is making. Simply put, delulu is the solulu...just kidding😂.
Everyone tries to be practical (and of course that's great) so most people would quickly dismiss the whole idea of being delusional. Especially because at first glance, being delusional might seem completely negative, creating unrealistic expectations and potential disappointment.
However, there’s some power in being delusional that most people overlook.....stay with me.
I saw this pov of being delusional "It describes someone who holds unrealistic or overly idealistic beliefs or fantasies" "Overly idealistic" pretty much sums up my thoughts about the kind of delusion we're talking about here- Unwavering self-belief. “The greatest achievers had a strong sense of self-belief, almost like delusion” I think sometimes, you have to believe in what you can achieve so much that you sound like you’re being delusional. Believe that you have what it takes, believe that you’re good enough; have those “overly idealistic” beliefs. Whats the worst that could happen? You learn, you keep it moving. Eventually, you’ll get to the point where it becomes your reality.
Thinking you’re not good enough, or you don’t have what it takes is a horrible mindset to walk through life with. Self-doubt cripples your potential and you end up achieving nothing. Am I saying you won’t face challenges when you decide to be great? Of course not, but being strong enough to carry on despite challenges is what makes great people. I saw another post, yeah I see a lot of posts😂 in fact, I can say a post changed a part of my life a year ago. But yeah, the post read “90% of life is confidence. And the thing about confidence is, no one knows if it’s real or not” and I think so too. Maybe not 90% but some percentage😂 I learned that you need to be confident, even when you’re doubtful. It makes all the difference.
This “delusion” is not about ignoring reality but rather about believing in a reality that we can achieve anything. Kind of like a superpower that propels us to go for it, take risks when necessary, innovate, and persist even in the face of adversity.
By now the message is clear: don't waste your life in self-doubt or waiting for some “permission” to pursue your dreams. Simply believing that you can achieve something significant is the first step toward actually doing it. Have the mindset that you can become anything-even if it means being a little delusional.
Ultimately, I agree-to an extent- with the authors pov. Delusion, when being looked at as a belief in your potential is not negative, but something that can push you to go for gold.
Maybe, just maybe, delulu is the solulu after all😂😂
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
